From Jon Stewart:
It is with great concern and sadness that I let you know that our good friend Noreen Clough is seriously ill. Noreen told us today that she has been diagnosed with cancer of the pancreas and liver and that the prognosis is not good.
As those who know Noreen might expect, she has a very good attitude about this terrible news and has chosen to look at the brighter side of things. She is especially grateful for the time she was able to spend working with the folks at B.A.S.S. and in the B.A.S.S. Nation conservation program. She had a tremendous and positive impact on our sport and our organization.
Here is an excerpt from an e-mail she sent when she announced her retirement from B.A.S.S. last year:
"I have spent more than 36 years in natural resource conservation — including ranking positions with the National Wildlife Refuge System and USFWS – but my best years have been those at B.A.S.S. as Conservation Director. It has been so fulfilling, personally and professionally, to see the B.A.S.S. Nation Conservation program grow and deliver amazing on-the-ground conservation and angler benefits..."
She told us that her recent trip to Africa was an amazing adventure and Gene has urged her to send us a few of the over 1,000 photos she took with the camera the Conservation Directors gave her as a retirement gift last summer.
We ask that everyone respect her privacy during this time, but if you would like to send her a card or note, you can mail it to: 1454 Lakemist Lane, Clermont, FL 34711. In the meantime, I know she would appreciate your prayers.
