Berkley Renews Premier Sponsorship With B.A.S.S.
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Berkley, maker of Trilene, PowerBait and Havoc, has signed a multiyear deal with B.A.S.S., LLC to continue its longtime relationship with the Bassmaster Tournament Trail.
Berkley Fishing Tackle will be an official Premier Sponsor of the GEICO Bassmaster Classic, Bassmaster Elite Series, Bass Pro Shops Bassmaster Open Series presented by Allstate and the Carhartt Bassmaster College Series for the next three years. The Premier Sponsorship includes Berkley’s entire array of products (line, soft and hard baits, tools, rods, etc.) for the various Bassmaster events.
“We are very excited to continue our partnership with B.A.S.S. and the Bassmaster events,” said Cara Finger, director of marketing services. “B.A.S.S. embodies the pulse of today’s anglers, which we believe is right in line with what we value at Berkley. With the partnership, we are committed to fostering growth within the sport of fishing while maintaining an attitude of conservation so future generations can continue to enjoy fishing.”
Berkley and B.A.S.S. have been partners for many years.
“B.A.S.S. is proud to have Berkley as a longtime member of our sponsor family,” said Bruce Akin, CEO of B.A.S.S., which owns and operates Bassmaster events. “Their commitment brings a strong presence to the ever-expanding sport of bass fishing, and we look forward to continuing our joint efforts in growing our sport.”
During the Feb. 20-22 Bassmaster Classic next year in Greenville, S.C., Berkley will showcase its products from a large booth each day at the Bassmaster Classic Outdoors Expo in the 280,000-square foot TD Convention Center. Berkley brand logos will be prominently displayed at the site of the daily Classic weigh-ins, the Bon Secours Wellness Arena, and the Green Pond launch facility on Lake Hartwell. Retailers at the Classic Expo will also be offering hot sales promotions of Berkley products.
Free Berkley products will be given away at the Classic launch site each morning, and fans can stop by the Berkley booth at the Classic Expo to see the latest products and learn tips and techniques on how to be a more effective angler from Berkley pros.
The popular Berkley PowerBait Cast4Cash contest will return to the Classic to give a lucky spectator a shot at winning $100,000. More details on the contest will be available at Berkley’s Classic Expo booth.
In addition to their Premier Sponsorship, Berkley has also signed on to partner with B.A.S.S.’s fast-growing Bassmaster High School Series in 2015.
“It’s great to see a longtime B.A.S.S. sponsor like Berkley participate in our youth initiatives and also encourage the growth of our Bassmaster High School Series program,” said Hank Weldon, B.A.S.S. College, High School and Youth tournament manager. “With their support, we’re going to take the High School platform to new heights in 2015.”
