This release form must be signed and dated by both Angler and Co Angler and sent to above address or presented at the ramp the day of the tournament. TOURNAMENT RULES
Eligibility: Open to all anglers. Anglers below the age of 18 must fish with a parent or guardian as a member of their team. Entry forms and fees must be received no later than April 17, 2014. Late registration may be done at the launch site, provided the tournament is not sold out, cash only at the ramp. There is a 50-boat limit.
Registration: Each team must check in with the tournament committee prior to starting time. All boats are subject to an inspection of all livewells and storage spaces before launch.
Boat Requirements: All boats must meet the minimum U.S. Coast Guard vessel safety requirements. PFD’s (Life Jacket) Must be worn by all competitors any time the combustion engine is running. All boats must be equipped with a livewell adequate to keep 8 fish alive during tournament hours.
Sportsmanship: There will be no fishing within 50 feet of a competitor’s boat that is at anchor (anchor out, trolling motor up). Anglers must remain in their boat at all times during tournament hours, except in the case of an emergency. All bass must be caught legally during tournament hours at Watchaug Pond and its tributaries. No alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs are allowed during tournament hours.
Teams: A team will consist of (2) two competitors per boat. No other persons are allowed on board a tournament vessel during tournament hours. Standings will be combined weight of largemouth and smallmouth bass with a limit of 8 fish per team.
Tackle: Only artificial lures may be used. No live or prepared baits may be used expect for pork strips or rinds. Only one wet line is permitted at any time per angler. Trolling is prohibited.
Scoring: Tournament standings will be determined by weight in pounds and ounces per team. Only largemouth and smallmouth bass will be weighed. A 12” minimum length, mouth closed, fantail measured on a golden ruler will determine actual length of fish. All decisions as to size and weight of all fish will be determined by the weigh master and will be binding and final.
Penalties: Two (2) ounces will be deducted from a team score for each dead fish weighed in. For any short fish (under 12”) weighed in, the teams entire catch will be disqualified. There will be no courtesy measurements allowed at weigh-in.
Ties: In the event that there is a tie between teams, the first tie breaker will be the team with the most fish, in the event that the teams are still tied, the second tie breaker will be the team with the single largest fish.
All Rhode Island State, general, fishing and boating laws and regulations must be adhered to. Any infractions of the above tournament rules, state laws, and regulations will be ground for disqualification.
Starting flights will be determined by blind draw at check-in.
Tournament waters will be off-limits to all competitors from 7:00PM Wednesday, April 30, 2014 until the start of the tournament Sunday May 4, 2014.
